During a ceremony that took place on March 11, 2008, Vitro received from Jorge Villalobos, President of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy, A.C. (CEMEFI) the distinction of being a Socially Responsible Corporation (ESR) 2008 upon confirming that the company meets the established standards in the strategic area of corporate social responsibility.

“Genesis” Value Added Products
As part of “Genesis”, on March 3rd the Flat Glass business unit will kick off the “Genesis Value Added Products” Project.The end result will be the transformation of the core Value-Added business processes in Mexico, North America and Europe, to develop competitive advantages with an effort of standardization, wherever possible, to gain synergies across the businesses.

Vitro in the heart of Dallas
Vitro America successfully participates in the expansion of the Dallas Convention Center. More than 102,156 square feet of one-inch insulated glass units were supplied.
