Heat-strengthened glass is intended for general glazing where additional strength and resistance to mechanical or thermal stress are desired. However, heat-strengthened glass does not meet the safety glazing codes.
Heat-strengthened glass has a similar break pattern to annealed glass and tends to remain in the opening when broken.
